Preparing a lubricant OEM or private-label brief

Define the product, market and packaging before discussing project feasibility.

By ISCAR Auto · Updated 1 October 2026

Define the intended application

List the applications and required specifications for each proposed product. Keep marketing ideas separate from technical requirements. A packaging concept alone is not enough to define the formulation or establish product suitability.

Prepare the brand and packaging brief

Share the brand name you are authorised to use, preferred container size, label languages and artwork requirements. Explain whether you need design support or will supply production-ready artwork.

Bring quantities and timing into the discussion

Provide an initial quantity per product and pack size, plus the intended launch window. Ask which parts of the proposal can be supported and what needs further review. Minimum orders, lead times and testing should be discussed before any project commitment.

Confirm responsibilities in writing

Agree who approves technical specifications, artwork, required documents and final samples. An OEM enquiry is a request to explore feasibility; it does not itself confirm manufacturing capability, certification or an accepted production order.
