A practical checklist for wholesale lubricant enquiries

Give a supplier the information needed to discuss products, quantities and delivery clearly.

Describe the market you serve

Identify the destination country and the customers you supply: workshops, fleets, retailers or industrial businesses. Add the main vehicle or equipment types. Avoid requesting “oil for every application”; a focused product list creates a more useful discussion.

Separate products, packs and quantities

Create one line per requested product. Include the viscosity or technical specification, preferred pack size, initial order quantity and expected repeat demand. Clearly label forecasts as estimates so they are not confused with committed purchase orders.

Define documents and delivery requirements

List the documents you want to review, such as a technical data sheet, safety data sheet and proposed label artwork. Include the delivery destination and desired timing. Ask the supplier to confirm what can be provided before placing an order.

Compare the complete proposal

Review the quoted specification, pack size, minimum order, payment conditions, delivery terms and document scope together. Ask for any agreed changes in writing. Product availability and commercial terms should be confirmed for the specific order.
