Application
Diesel engine oil for KAMAZ and commercial trucks
Start with the engine, emission system and fuel sulfur level. B40 (CI-4) and B60 (CJ-4) are options where the manual specifies them.
KAMAZ and other commercial trucks use different engine families and emission systems. Older vehicles may specify CI-4 or CH-4; newer vehicles with advanced after-treatment may require CJ-4. The model year and engine code decide more than the truck brand.
This page helps prepare a fleet or workshop enquiry. It does not replace the engine manual, the OEM approval or the current TDS.
CI-4 or CJ-4?
CI-4 and CJ-4 are different API categories. CJ-4 targets low-sulfur fuel and advanced after-treatment, with limits on ash, phosphorus and sulfur. A truck that specifies CI-4 is not automatically approved for CJ-4, and a CJ-4 engine may not accept CI-4. Use the engine manual and the OEM approval.
Fleet purchasing
A mixed fleet may need more than one oil. Separate vehicles by engine requirement and duty cycle, then plan pack sizes and quantities per group. Do not use one category for every truck just to simplify purchasing.
What to send in an enquiry
Send the engine model, year, emission system, fuel sulfur level, required API category and monthly quantity. If the fleet has both older and newer trucks, list them separately. Add the destination country and required documents.

Application FAQ
Questions to settle before ordering.
Can B40 be used in a KAMAZ with a DPF?
Only if the engine manufacturer confirms that CI-4 is acceptable. A DPF system may require CJ-4 or another low-ash category. Check the manual and the OEM approval before ordering.
Should I choose 20W-50 or 15W-40?
Use the grade in the engine manual. B40 and B60 are listed in 20W-50; B10 and B20 include 15W-40 or 20W-50 variants. Climate and engine condition matter, but they do not override the OEM requirement.
Can I mix B40 and B60?
Avoid mixing different API categories. In an emergency, a compatible top-up may be possible, but the result may not meet the original requirement. Return to the correct oil and confirm the service action with the workshop.
